I wasn't happy with how the original legs looked with the newly beefed up body so I decided to bulk them up as well.
I started by cutting the hoof off of the leg and then cutting the leg in half down the middle and glueing a piece of plasticard in between the pieces.
Since I wanted the legs to look a bit more sinister, I decided to cut some spikes into the thigh armor pieces. I also thought that he looked a bit to short to be in command of my army so I decided to make him a bit taller by cutting the leg at the knee joint and straightening it out a bit...just need to finish it with a bit of green stuff. Compared to a regular leg I think it will really add a lot to my Prime.

Tyranid Prime conversion WIP #1
I started out with a Tyranid Warrior torso and lower torso parts that I had primed and was ready to add to my unit...only this ones different, stronger, faster...I made him better...sorry I kind of got away from myself there but we're back on track.
To start the conversion I took a razor saw and cut the torso pieces in have straight down the middle. I then took plasticard and glued two pieces together and then glued that in between the two torso pices to make it a little more bulky and intimidating.
I wanted my Prime to be a little more armored so I used the extra carapace armor from my genestealers to bulk up his shoulder carapace.
After everything was in place and dry, I used green stuff to fill in any gaps and smooth out the transitions between pieces. I also used the green stuff to alter the chest plate and added a few plate separations to give it a few smaller details.
Tyranid Prime conversion WIP
So I recently just got back into modeling/ playing Warhammer 40k and started a tyranid army. After picking up a battle force, a few elites, and some heavy hitters I had the starts to a small army. I wanted to make my army kind of unique and personalized so it doesn't look like every other tyranid army out there so I decided to start modeling and converting my pieces so they were a little different. My first attempt at that was messing with a zoanthrope (I didn't take pics of my WIP but I will on the next one) and just tweaking it a bit so it stood better and the pieces fit together better...well after that I was kind of addicted to altering my army. The next model I am converting is a Tyranid prime from various parts of other models. I wanted the Prime to stay consistent with the other Tyranid Warriors but stand out enough that anyone could see that he was the boss man (at least until I model my hive tyrant :). So here is the start of my Tyranid Prime WIP... Hope you enjoy and I would appreciate feedback.
